Nanterre doesn't want to play CL qualification round, will apply for EuroCup
Nanterre won FIBA Europe Cup and French Cup but they have to pass through the qualification round in Champions League
Nanterre 92 won FIBA Europe Cup and French Cup this season and got a spot for next Basketball Champions League.
But the French team has to pass the preliminary round in Champions League.
Something that, according to the president Jean Donnadieu, is unfair.
“We got a dossier to apply for next EuroCup and we will do that” Donnadieu said. “We are not lucky because last season Le Mans, as winner of French Cup, was qualified to the Champions League main round. This year we won the Cup and an European Competition and we have to pass through the qualification round. We won FIBA Europe Cup and this give us nothing” Donnadieu told Le Parisien. “Everytime there is a new rule. It is not a normal thing”.
