Pallacanestro Cantù to play in Eurocup in place of BC Volgograd

A big news for Italian and European basketball. Italian side Pallacanestro Cantù, owned by Dimitry Gerasimenko, will play in Eurocup next season in place of BC Volgograd, also owned by Gerasimenko. Despite the position taken by Italian federation, that forced several teams to renounced to Eurocup under the threat that they won't be able to play in Italian championship, Cantù has taken this important decision and breaking the bond between FIBA and Italian federation.

Cantù is also waiting for the verdict from European Court regarding the situation of European basketball, which is expected to arrive soon, a source told Sportando.
