Stelmet Zielona Gora promoted Artur Gronek to head coach spot
The coach promoted to replace Filipovski
Stelmet Zielona Gora has promoted Artur Gronek to the head coach spot for the upcoming season, the club announced Thursday. Gronek, age 31, had been working as Zielona Gora's assistant coach for the last three seasons, first for Mihailo Uvalin and then for Saso Filipovski in the last two seasons. He helped Zielona Gora win back-to-back Polish League titles in the last two years and also lifted the Polish Cup trophy in 2015. It will be Gronek's first experience as head coach, as he previously worked as assistant coach in several Polish clubs such as Tempcold AZS Politechnika Warszawa and KS Start Gdynia, as well as for the Polish national team. "I thank the club for its trust. Of course, the proposal surprised me a little but because there is a large number of very experienced coaches available in the market, but this is obviously and a very positive surprise," Gronek said."I know that the club consulted people close to me and with whom I worked to take this decision and that Saso Filipovski gave his opinion, which was important for me to get the job."
