FIBA Europe's Kamil Novak: We have a more democratic idea, based on solidarity
Kamil Novak spoke with Il Corriere della Sera about the situation between FIBA and Euroleague
FIBA Europe General Secretary Kamil Novak spoke with Il Corriere della Sera about the ongoing “war between FIBA and Euroleague”.
“We want to unify the Cups according to a vision tied not only to money and high level. We have a more democratic idea, based on solidarity. All the teams must have the dream of competing and progress. It is a concept used also by football’s Champions League. Why not to follow them?” Novak said.
Novak did not rule out the possibility to exclude Spain (one of the federations suspended from next Eurobasket) from the Olympic Games in Rio.
“It is possible but the decision is not up to me. That would be a difficult step. We are open to dialogue”.
