Bertomeu invites 23 clubs in Barcelona to discuss about new Eurocup
The new Eurocup will have the same format as the actual Euroleague
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu invited 23 clubs in Barcelona on March 14 to discuss about the new Eurocup.
The Eurocup will have the same format as the actual Euroleague. With four groups and then the Top 16.
The winner of the Eurocup will play in Euroleague.
Bertomeu invited: Aek Athens, Aris Thessaloniki (Greece); Limoges, Strasbourg (France); Besiktas, Galatasaray (Turkey) ; Malaga, Valencia, Gran Canaria (Spain); Lietuvos Vilnius, Neptunas Klaipeda (Lithuania) ; Alba Berlin, Bayern Munich, Bamberg (Germany) ; Kazan, Khimki, Lokomotiv Kuban (Russia); Crvena Zvezda, Partizan Belgrade, Cedevita Zagreb (ABA Liga), Dinamo Sassari, Pallacanestro Reggiana and Aquila Basket Trento (Italy)
The offer on the table is a three-year contract to play in Eurocup.
