Olimpia Milano is interested in bringing back to Europe Andrea Bargnani, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Il Mago signed a two-year contract with the Nets last summer with the second season as player option ($1.3M in 2015-16, $1.5M in 2016-2017) but he is having a little playing time (32 games played, all from the bench, averaging 6.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13:4 minutes) and he may leave the franchise which fired coach Lionel Hollins on Sunday and promoted his assistant Tony Brown.
Milano’s dream is to sign the Italian big man by January 28 when the Eurocup’s transfer windows will close. But the deal at the moment is very unlikely.
If Milano can’t sign Bargnani now, they will try to land him in the summer. Il Mago has a player option and may test free agency and return to Europe.
Bargnani was the 1st overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft.
