Eurocup Round 9 MVP: Quino Colom, Unics Kazan

A flurry of new Last 32 qualifiers emerged after the Round 9 games, but there are still some spots to be allocated in a last round of the regular season that looks promising. In the next-to-last round however, one player excelled among all to claim weekly MVP honors, and that is none other than Quino Colom of Unics Kazan thanks to his index rating performance of 38, the absolute highest this week. Colom completed a great all-around performance with a triple-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists, plus 6 steals and 4 drawn fouls. In a little more than 13 Eurocup editions, this is only the ninth triple-double in the competition's history. Following Colom, PAOK Thessaloniki big man Sofoklis Schortsanitis also amassed an index rating performance of 35 thanks to his 27 points (9 of 10 two-point shots), 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 10 drawn fouls. Completing the top performances of the week, Kostas Vasileiadis also of PAOK with a 32 index rating peformance.
Individual highs: Five players manage to pull 12 rebounds each
No player managed to reach the 30-point mark this week. The one that got the closest was Jimmy McKinney of Telekom Baskets Bonn with his 29 points. In the rebounds department, as many as five players managed to pull 12 boards apiece: Maciej Lampe of Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul, Kyle Landry of Zenit St. Petersburg, Nemanja Milosevic of Enel Basket Brindisi, Okaro White of Aris Thessaloniki and Mouphtaou Yarou of Le Mans Sarthe Basket. The first four of them all had 9 defensive boards plus 3 offensive. Colom was the assists king this week thanks to his 13 decisive passes and Per Guenther of ratiopharm Ulm followed close with 11. In defense, Pavel Pumprla of Proximus Spirou Charleroi excelled with 7 steals and D'Or Fischer of Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem topped the rankings also with his 4 blocks.
