Gran Canaria in talks with a couple of Angolan talents
The Spanish team is active to strengheten the youth team
Everybody knows Spanish team Herbalife Gran Canaria has one of the best youth systems in Europe. The last player moulded in it is the Atlanta Hawks' draftee Walter Tavares, who's still playing in first team.
According to sources, Gran Canaria made a couple of attempts to add in the youth team young Angolan talents Bruno Fernandes (1998) and Silvio De Sousa (1998).
The problem is the Angolan team that owns rights over them (Desportivo 1 Agosto de Luanda) doesn't want to write the letter of clearance to let them going to Spain. Gran Canaria had a couple of calls to break the deadlock, but for now nothing moved.
When (If) the Spanish team will find this agreement to let them free, they will sign a four year contract.
Both Bruno Fernandes and Silvio De Sousa attended 2014 World Championships U17. Bruno averaged 9.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game, while Silvio 14.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
The players are still thinking about the possibility to go to high school in USA.
