Two MVPs for the 7th round of Eurocup

EuroCup
The Last 32 gates finally opened in Round 7 of the regular season. One of the teams that managed to stay alive in Group A and still in the race was Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia with a 78-72 home win over Paris Levallois. The leader of the team in this crucial win was Achille Polonara, who managed to rack up a performance index rating 34. Just like him, Romeo Travis of Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd also led his team this week to a 69-67 home over Hapoel Jerusalem to advance to the Last 32, for another 34 index rating. Both players, Travis and Pollonara therefore share co-MVP honors this week, being the second such honor in a row for the latter. Polonara scored 24 points, pulled 6 rebounds, dished 2 assists, had 3 steals and drew 11 fouls for a great all-around performance. Travis scored 23 points, pulled 11 rebounds and had 5 steals to lead his team into the next phase. Completing the top 5 performances were Sharrod Ford of Paris Levallois, who also had an index rating of 34, but in a losing effort of his team precisely to Reggio Emilia; and Antanas Kavaliauskas and Bracey Wright oh Hapoel Jerusalem, with a performance index rating of 31 each.

Individual highs: Walter Tavares, 6 blocks

JaJuan Johnson of Besiktas Integral Forex Istanbul was the top scorer this week with his 25 points against Zenit St. Petersburg, good for a home win and a ticket to the Last 32. Ford of Paris led the rebounds list with his 18, followed by Jordan Morgan of Virtus Rome with 15. Pedro Llompart of CAI Zaragoza was the only player this week to reach double digits in assists, as he dished 10, while Walter Tavares of Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas was huge under the glasses, stopping as many as 6 shots with his blocks.
