Eurocup Game 1, Conference 1: Sportando Team of the Week

The new Eurocup opened the season this week.

The competition made big changes during the summer and now there are 48 teams that are competing to reach the Last 32.

The teams are divided in two Conferences: 1 (Groups A-D) and 2 (Groups E-H.

This is the Conference 1 Sportando Team of the Week.

Oliver Lafayette (Valencia): The Spanish team started the Eurocup campaign with an important win in France against Paris Levallois 85-68. The American point guard was decisive for the final victory scoring 17 points (5/7 from the arc) and dishing 8 assists for 22 of evaluation.

David Logan (Alba Berlin): The American-Polish combo guard moved to Berlin during the summer after a season with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Alba Berlin won the German derby against Bonn 86-65 and Logan scored 20 points shooting 6/8 from downtown for 24 of evaluation.

Pietro Aradori (Fox Town Cantù): Cantù completely merged the roster during the offseason but Pietro Aradori stayed to be one of the leaders of the team. And in the first Eurocup game of the season, the Italian International showed his potential scoring 28 points in the victory over Artland Dragons 88-86. Cantù rallied from a double digit deficit to win the game.

Caleb Green (Dinamo Sassari): Dinamo Sassari lost the Serie A opening game against Virtus Bologna and the team was still looking for the first win of the season. The Italians destroyed EWE Baskets Oldenburg on their own court 96-77. Caleb Green scored 25 points (6 of 10 from two points, 4 of 8 from three points), grabbed 5 rebounds and had 24 as evaluation.

Trent Plaisted (Ratiopharm Ulm): It is not going to be simple for Trent Plaisted to replace John Bryant in Ulm but the big man ended the first Eurocup game with the German team with a dominant performance. Plaisted scored 16 points (almost perfect from the field with 8/9), grabbed 12 rebounds (3 offensive) and Ulm beat ASVEL 88-80. Plaisted finished with 28 of evaluation.
