Orlandina Basket tabs Gary Talton as the new point guard

Orlandina Basket signed the US point guard Gary Talton (6’1, class of 1990), who spent last season in Greece with Rethymno (11.6 points, 4.4 assists, 2.7 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game).

Talton graduated in 2013 at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he scored 12.3 points plus 4.4 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 34.4 minutes in his senior year. He previously played with Navarro (2009-10) and Mountain View (2010-11) before getting to the NCAA Division I.

The new Orlandina Basket playmaker started his professional career in the D-League (Rio Grande Valley, Fort Wayne, Delaware, Grand Rapids), averaging 10.2 points, 6.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 28.6 per game in 145 appearences before coming to Europe last year.

Giuseppe Sindoni (Orlandina Basket Sports Director): “We wanted to stick with our basketball ideas, that’s why we looked for a point guard that can help his teammates to perform in our system and who can score from the 3 point range. Talton is an up and comer player who did very well in the Greek league, which is very demanding on a tactical standpoint, in his first European campaign”.
