Tenerife wins the first historical Basketball Champions League title
The Spanish team won 63-59 the final game against Banvit
Iberostar Tenerife is the champion of the inaugural season of Basketball Champions League. The hosts, under the eyes of the Spanish fans in Santiago Martin Pabellon, won the final game against Banvit for 63-59.
A really balanced and exciting challenge, Tenerife won despite the effort of the Turkish opponents, always in the game thanks to a really great defensive match.
Banvit reached the tie a couple of time but thanks to the contribution of the fans the men of coach Vidorreta reached the final victory celebrating this important success.
Grigonis was the top scorer and MVP with 18 points, helped by White with 14 points and San Miguel with 9 points. Important also the contribution of Niang.
Across for Banvit a really good Final Four, probably key of the game the bad percentage from the distance. Theodore was the top scorer with 17+9+4, there are also 13 points each for Kukig and Orelik (with 13 rebounds).
