KK Zagreb fires coach Ivica Buric

Squadra affidata temporaneamente a Vladimir Androic

ABA Liga

Less than a week before its Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut, KK Zagreb has changed head coaches by letting go Ivica Buric and replacing him with Vlado Androic, a former assistant coach with the club. The dismissal of Buric comes after Zagreb stumbled to a 0-2 start in the Adriatic League, including a 28-point opening-game home loss to fellow Euroleague team Partizan Belgrade. After Buric became the team's third head coach last April, Zagreb proceeded to win 10 of 12 games while sweeping both Zadar and Cedevita to win the Croatian League title. The team had previously won the Croatian Cup and finished as the highest Croatian team in the Adriatic League, thereby qualifying for its first-ever Euroleague season. Androic is a former players who spent time in Partizan, Olimpija and Sibenika. After retirement, he coached in the Partizan system, spent one season coaching in Cyprus and helped start the Mladost basketball school in his native Serbia. Androic joined the Zagreb coaching staff over the summer.
