Cibona adds two, extends two

Cibona took an important step forwards to complete its roster for the upcoming Euroleague season by inking big men Jure Lalic and Drago Pasalic to respective two-year deals. Also on Wednesday, Cibona confirmed that up-and-coming swingman Bojan Bogdanovic was extended for three more years while versatile forward Marin Rozic inked a new deal until the end of the 2010-11 season. Lalic (212, 24) arrives from Union Olimpija, where he averaged 10 points on 74.4% two-pointers in 17 Euroleague games last season. He had started the 2009-10 season with Spirou Charleroi, averaging 5.5 points in 6 Eurocup games before moving to Ljubljana. Lalic has also played for Zadar and Amfora Makarska in his native Croatia. He helped Charleroi to win the Belgian League in 2009 and lifted the Croatian League trophy with Zadar in 2005 and 2008. Pasalic (208, 26) arrives from Xacobeo Blu:sens, where he averaged 5.4 points in 17 Spanish League games last season. He has also played for Bilbao Basket in Spain, PAOK in Greece, Ulker in Turkey and Split in Croatia. Pasalic has also been a member of the Croatian national team. He helped Split to win the 2003 Croatian League and 2004 Croatian Cup titles. He also made it to the Eurocup semifinals with Bilbao in 2009.


Bogdanovic (202, 21) comes off a breakout season with Cibona, averaging 8.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15 Euroleague games last season. He boosted his numbers up to 16.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 18 Croatian League games, helping Cibona to win the title. Bogdanovic also helped Cibona to reach the Adriatic League final, that his team lost against Partizan in unbelievable fashion. Bogdanovic has also played for Murcia and Real Madrid's second team in Spain, as well as for BC Zrinjski Mik in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also been a member of the Croatian under-16, under-18 and under-20 national teams. Bogdanovic earned Top 16 Week 5 MVP honors, with a 22-point, 9-rebound effort against BC Khimki. Rozic (201, 27) averaged 8.2 points in 9 Euroleague games but was sidelined for several months due to an injury. He is set to play his seventh consecutive season with Cibona. Rozic has also played for Zrinjevac in Croatia and Livorno in Italy, as well as for the Croatian national team. Rozic won the Croatian League title with Cibona in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
