Walsh-Union Olimpija, war time

Union Olimpija, after the news reported by Aris official website that today Matt Walsh would have flied to Greece to negotiate the contract with the club from Thessaloniki, announced the suspension of the American player due the fact that he did not inform the club about skipping the practice.

Walsh, according to Slovenian sources, has been always paid by Slovenian powerhouse (the only problems have been in the last month) but his agent convinced the guard/forward to leave the club and go to Aris where a more important contract is waiting for him.

"He clearly got a good offer. Tuesday evening he missed team practice and he did not inform the club about this. He broke the contract onesided so we will not give him the letter of clearance. We wanted to talk to him but he is not anwsering his phone."

"I wouldn't say that financial problems were a reason for this. We have a really small debt to him so I think this should not be the reason. Even in top European clubs such delays happen. I doubt he will be able to play in Aris, first the court will have to decide about this case!"

"Before this, we didn't have any problems with him. Maybe he was a little bit egoistic on moments but it is normal with such players" said the PR of Union Olimpija at RTVSLO.
