Split hires Boris Kurtovic as Head Coach
Nuovo allenatore nella squadra croata
Boris Kurtovic is a new Head Coach of Split. Over the past two weeks there was many rumors about this transfer, but the news is officially confirmed yesterday. At the end of the last week it seemed that negotiations are over and that sides did not agree, but yesterday the club announced that the deal is confirmed.
Boris Kurtovic will lead Split in the next three years. He spent last two seasons with Croatian team Trogir. In 2007/08 he promoted them from A2 to A1 league, what was a big success for this club. In the past Kurtovic worked two and a half years in Kosovo. Second half of 2004/05 season he was a Head Coach of Bosnian Siroki Hercegtisak. Since 2001-2003 he led another Bosnian team, Brotnjo Citluk. His head coaching career started with Zrinjevac Zagreb. This summer he led Croatian U19 National Team on U19 World Championship in Auckland. With Siroki he reached Bosnian Cup Semifinals in 2007. As a HC of Brotnjo Kurtovic won Hertzeg Bosnian League Cup in 2001.
The bad thing for Split is that their budget for the next season is extremely restrictive. It means that the club will try to make a decent result with their young players. The team will not participate in Adriatic league.
