Zagreb extends contract with Vladimir Krstic

Experienced guard Vladimir Krstic (185-G-72, agency: Court Side) has recently been handed contract extension to stay with BC Zagreb for another year. Croatian outfit has recently started with preparations for the next season and they have started to form the team for next year as well. It was a mutual wish from the start for the cooperation to be extended, so both the club and the player are satisfied with agreement. 36-year old guard came to Zagreb last season from Greece where he played for Eglaeo. Krstic brought the experience and the stability at the point guard position and has done a good job which earned him extension. Now the club is facing their next task on whose completion will depend how the team will be further formed for next season. Zagreb Management is hoping they will be able to also extend teams best player Anto Tomic and are currently working on this.
Vladimir Krstic started his career with Olimpija Slavoning where he played for 7 seasons before moving to BC Cibona in 1998. With Cibona he won two consecutive titles in 1999 and 2000. In 2000, Krstic started his European journey with first stop being Polish Anwil Wloclawek where he averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Following season he moved to Pau-Orthez but after playing only 3 games for the club, he moved to Metis Varese where he played in28 games and averaged 11.0 points and 3.8 rebounds. In 2002 Krstic signed with Lietuvos rytas Vilnius while the next season he returned to Croatia and signed with BC Zadar. Krstic also played one more year at CIbona, and then for several European clubs including Llanera Menorca, Olimpia GE Larisa and BC Kyiv. Last season, Krstic started at Greek outfit Egaleo AO but in January 2009 he moved to BC Zagreb. He played in 15 Croatian League games, posting averages of 5.0 points and 2.4 assists per game, while in Adriatic League he averaged 7.8 points and 2.6 assists in 10 games.
