ABA Liga

Two days ago, Teo Cizmic announced his resignation as Head Coach of Split. Only one day later, the President of Split Dino Radja has confirmed that Cizmic will stay on. After the Board meeting it was decided that Cizmic will lead Split for the remaining three games in the Croatian Championship. He will also prepare and lead the team during the Play-Offs. Radja also stated that the Board is working hard on solving the current financial situation. He hopes that recent meetings with Ministry of Sports and Education will yield positive results.
Teo Cizmic is a rookie coach as this is his first head coaching position. He retired with Split after season 2005-2006. Prior to becoming a coach he has enjoyed a successful career. Even though he was being compared to Toni Kukoc, injuries have hampered Cizmic in becoming as successful as his compatriot and former team mate. Cizmic played for numerous teams including Yugoplastika Postojna, Karlovac, and Pelephone Galil Elyon in Israel, Troy Izmir and Oostende in Belgium. He won EuroCup twice, first in 1988 and than in 1991. In one of his last season in 2004 he played atTuborg Izmir in Turkey. His averages in 15 Euroleague games for Tuborg were 14.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
