Cedevita waives Zoran Kalpic, hires Srecko Medvedec

After last night's defeat against Dubrovnik, management of Cedevita decided to release the head coach Zoran Kalpic. At the same time the team hired Srecko Medvedec. Assistant coach Marin Mindoljevic will stay on his position.

Cedevita ended the first stage of A1 league on top entering to the second one with big ambitions. The main Cedevita's targed for this season is to earn a spot for Adriatic league 09/10. However, the team started with 0-3 in 'Group 1-8' and the chances to meet its goal rapidly decreased. New head coach Medvedec states that situation is difficult at this moment.

'After three consecutive defeats it will be hard to motivate the players. However, I hope I am able to do something and to move on from the zero point. This have to be a lesson and it will help the club in its future plans', said Medvedec.

In the past coach Srecko Medvedec worked with Cedevita's junior team. This season he was a head coach of B team.

The following seven days will be very hard for the new coach Medvedec ans his team as they will meet Cibona, Zadar and Sibenik. The first game is scheduled for Satuday (vs Cibona on the road).
