Aleksandar Todorov named MZT Skopje head coach
New coach for MZT Skopje
The name of Aleksandar Todorov is written with golden letters into the history books of the blue and white, as he was the first ever coach to bring the Macedonian national championship trophy to the club’s trophy cupboard and was the first ever coach to lead the team from Jane Sandanski in the regional basketball competition. The coach, who led MZT three times before, debuted on the bench of MZT Skopje Aerodrom in 2000.
Todorov will replace Ante Nazor at MZT. The contract of the Split-born tactician has expired at the end of last season.
The first task of the domestic coach will be to rebuild the team, since at the moment only captain Marko Simonovski, Adem Mekić and Xavier Thames are the ones with valid contacts with the club. He will, however, have a chance to count also on young prospects like Leonid Todorovski, Andrej Nastevski, Damjan Misa, Petar Prentović and Martin Milevski. The primary goal will be to rebuild the team in a way that would enable it to continue to be dominant on domestic scene and to be able to compete fairly in the regional competition as well.
