Union Olimpija keep Sasu Salin for two more seasons
The player will stay in Slovenia
Union Olimpija signed a contract extension with Finnish sharpshooter Sasu Salin for another two seasons. The popular Finn was part of the club already for the past three years.
Sasu Salin, who arrived to Union Olimpija in 2010 from Finnish club Honka Espoo Playboys, averaged this year 6,3 points, 2,7 rebounds and 1,2 assists per game in Euroleague. He was averaging 7,5 points and 3,2 rebounds per game in Adriatic League.
Sasu Salin, player of Union Olimpija: "I am extremely happy to continue my career at Union Olimpija. I had few other options, but I quickly decided that I want to stay in Ljubljana. I feel like at home in Ljubljana and I have a feeling that I am developing as a basketball player. I like the positive atmosphere and organization in the club. I will have preparations with the Finnish national team in next weeks and then Eurobasket 2013, which will be also in Slovenia. I am looking forward to the challenges and I can’t wait for the new basketball season to start!"
Aleš Pipan, head coach of Union Olimpija: "I believe we are on the right track when it comes to building a new team for the upcoming season. Sasu Salin was an important part of the team in Union Olimpija for the last three seasons and it will stay the same in the future. We want to make a team, which won't know what a lost ball is. I believe, that Sasu Salin can continue making progress on his game in the upcoming two years, and have an even bigger contribution to the team's success."
