As reported by BasketballBuddha, after one season in the Chinese Basketball Association, the Chongqing Fly Dragon have been sold to a Beijing company and will most-likely relocate to Beijing giving China’s capital city a second CBA franchise.

In their expansions season, the Chongqing Fly Dragon finished dead-last in the CBA winning a total of four games. And while the team struggled, Chongqing fans were still very passionate for their team. According to a report from sohu.com, the Beijing company made the Chongqing Fly Dragon an offer they couldn’t refuse.

The acquisition has been made and now the Chinese basketball community is waiting for approval from the CBA front office to see the relocation go forward. Beijing will be the first city to host two CBA franchises. It is rumored that the new club will play its home games in the National Indoor Stadium which holds a capacity crowd of nearly 18,000 people, a far cry from the traditional 5,000 seat venues of CBA teams.
