Kyoto Hannaryz sign Edwin Ubiles
Ubiles has played with the Wizards
The Kyoto Hannaryz have bolstered their roster with the addition of guard/forward Edwin Ubiles, who has spent the majority of the past two seasons in the NBA Development League.
Ubiles also appeared in four games for the Washington Wizards — on a 10-day contract — in the 2011-12 campaign. Averaging 13.0 minutes in four games in March 2012, he contributed 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
The bj-league team announced the signing on Monday.
Ubiles continues the Kyoto tradition of having one player with NBA experience every season. The franchise, now in its fifth season, featured longtime NBA guard Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf in the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, followed by big man Lance Allred in 2012-12 and center Marcus Cousin last season. Former NBA small forward David Benoit was the first coach in Hannaryz history.
