He spent his first pro season in Lithuania and Qatar
American big man A.J. West has signed a contract with Bigua Basquet Montevideo of the Uruguayan first division today, a source told Sportando.
West, a 6-foot-9 player out of Nevada, spent his first year as a professional player in Lithuania and Qatar.
He started the 2016-17 season with Lithuanian club Siauliai. In 12 LKL games, he averaged 7 points and 4.8 rebounds. With Siauliai, West also averaged 9 points and 6.3 rebounds in 6 FIBA Europe Cup games.
In December, he left Siauliai and signed with Al Sadd Doha in Qatar where he recorded 20.3 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
West, 25, will leave tomorrow for Uruguay, the source said.
