Come riportato da Adrian Wojnarowski di ESPN, i Detroit Pistons hanno intervistato John Beilein, coach di Michigan, per il ruolo di head coach. Beilein, che a breve compirà 66 anni, è head coach di Michigan dal 2007 e ha portato l'Università al Torneo NCAA per 8 volte.
