Dwyane Wade in lutto per la morte del suo agente, lascia temporaneamente i Cavaliers

Dwyane Wade ha lasciato momentaneamente i Cleveland Cavaliers per lutto in seguito alla scomparsa del suo agente Henry Thomas della CAA Sports, come riportato da Cleveland.com. Wade infatti non ha giocato la partita di ieri vinta dai Cavs contro Indiana. Il General Manager dei Cavaliers, Koby Altman, ha detto a Wade di prendersi tutto il tempo che gli serve per superare questo suo triste momento.

Wade ha postato un emozionante messaggio su Instagram riferendosi a Thomas, il quale veniva considerato dalla guardia dei Cavs non come un semplice agente, ma come una figura paterna.

Questo il messaggio di Wade: "Ti scrivo questo messaggio mentre piango lacrime sia di tristezza che di gioia. Lo so, lo so, riesco a sentire la tua voce che dice 'forza ragazzo, ce la puoi fare!' e riesco ad immaginarmi la tua faccia e sentire i tuoi abbracci che mi hai dato in così tanti momenti della mia vita. Che siano abbracci per congratularti con me per un titolo NBA, o per assicurarmi che tutto sarebbe andato bene. Non potrò mai ringraziarti abbastanza per questi 15 anni. Dovresti essere orgoglioso per il lavoro che hai svolto su questo giovane ragazzo di Chicago. Avevo 21 anni quando ci incontrammo. Io e mio padre avevamo delle cose da sistemare, mentre invece stavo lasciando coach Crean, quindi avevo bisogno dell'affetto di una figura paterna. Quindi sei arrivato nel momento giusto e sei diventato la persona di cui avevo tremendamente bisogno. Odio dire la parola 'agente' perché tu eri molto di più per me. Piango perché volevo che fossi ancora qui quando avrei avuto la mia maglia ritirata o quando avrei detto il mio discorso nella Hall of Fame o quando avrei avuto una figlia. Ho molte domande su come crescere una forte e intelligente donna afroamericana. Spero che non ti dispiaccia che continuerò a chiedere il tuo aiuto. Ti voglio bene Henry (Hank) Thomas. GRAZIE per il tuo affetto che mi hai dato. Riposa in pace. Alla fine noi ce l'abbiamo fatta!!!"

 

Dear Hank, I’m writing this letter to you as i cry both tears of SADNESS and tears of JOY. I know— i know—i can hear your voice saying “Come on my man”you got this! I can picture your face and feel your hugs in so—so many moments in my life. Whether it’s you hugging me and saying how proud you are of me or congrats on winning a NBA championship or you hugging me and saying everything’s gonna be alright—we will get thru this. I can’t thank you enough for these last 15 years. You should be so proud of the job you did on this young misguided kid from Chicago. I was a young 21 when we met and i needed a Man’s love. My dad and i had things to work out and i was leaving my father figure Coach Crean—so you stepped in right away and became that MAN i desperately needed. I hate saying my “agent” because you have always been way more than that to me. I cry these tears because selfishly i wanted you to be there when i got my jersey retired or when i gave my hall of fame speech or when i had a daughter. I got so many questions on how to raise a strong, confident, intelligent, independent black woman. I hope you don’t mind but i will still be calling on you for guidance.
