Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry said that Eric Gordon's shooting could be a "big weapon" this season. "Obviously I like him a lot," Gentry said of Gordon. "I think him coming into the season where he's going to participate in training camp and go through, I look for him to have a really good year. If you look at the end of last year, he was shooting the ball as well as any two-guard in the league. I think he ended up shooting 44 percent over the last 30-something games. Just that alone could be a big weapon for us. I think there are a lot of other things he can do." Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune

Alvin Gentry said that Anthony Davis' increased weight won't jeopardize his quickness. "I think for him, the ability to have a strong base and not get pushed around is important," Gentry said. "The thing that I like about it is that he put on the weight without jeopardizing any of his quickness or ability. That's also a huge point too. I think it gives him the opportunity to have a stronger base and at least when he's getting knocked around he can hold his on." Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune

Quincy Pondexter's knee rehab is moving slowly. "I hope not to miss much time if any time at all. I'm looking forward to having a lot better season than I did last year," Pondexter said. He had arthroscopic surgery back on May 6, so he's certainly behind the normal prognosis.
