Fraport Skyliners sign Eric Murphy and Trae Bell-Haynes
Both players signed for three months
Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt added depth to its roster by signing center Eric Murphy and rookie point guard Trae Bell-Haynes to short-term deals. Both players signed three-month contracts, with an option for the remainder of the season, and a season after that. Murphy (2.08 meters, 27 years old) arrived after another Skyliners’ big man, Niklas Kiel, suffered a concussion. Last season, Murphy played with JSF Nanterre of France, and in 10 FIBA Basketball Champions League appearances posted 4.7 points and 3.6 rebounds, while in 13 French League games he averaged 7 points and 2.4 rebounds. Murphy spent his first two professional seasons between Chicago of the NBA and a Development League team Austin. He made his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Besiktas Istanbul in the 2015-16 campaign, posting 7.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in the competition. During his career, he also played for Buyukcekmece in Turkey and Strasbourg in France. Murphy is also a member of the Finnish national team. Bell-Haynes (1.88 meters, 23 years old) has spent four years playing at the University of Vermont, where he has scored a total of 1,629 points and dished 518 assists, making his eighth best scorer and fifth.best ball distributor in his college history. Last season he averaged 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He is now set to make his EuroCup debut.
