Alba Berlin lands Traore until end of season
The French big man moves to Germany
German squad Alba Berlin announced on Monday evening the signing of big man Ali Traore until the end of the season. Traore (2.07 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Lokomotiv Kuban of Russia. He has almost not performed this season due to an injury that kept him away from the courts for a long period. When he recovered he played one single game in the VTB League and another in the Russian League and then was released by Lokomotiv Kuban. Soon after Traore was signed by Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade, but he didn't pass the medical tests and his signing was never effective, so he didn't make his debut in the Eurocup this season. Now, with Alba, he is eligible to play the Turkish Airlines Euroleague right away. Traore is a player with previous Turkish Airlines Euroleague experience as he played with Asvel Lyon of France in 2001-02 and 2009-10 and later in Italy with Virtus Roma in 2010-11. He is also a member of the French national team and averaged 15.3 points and 7.1 rebounds in 13 Eurocup games during the 2011-12 season with Kuban.
