Spirou Basket has announced that head coach Gio Bozzi is back in the team for the first time since 2002. Bozzi, age 46, replaces Drazen Anzulovic, who led the win to win consecutive Belgian League titles in each of the last two season. Bozzi is far from being a newcomer to Spirou's bench, as he coached the Belgian powerhouse in 11 consecutive seasons from 1991 to 2002. He coached 523 official games with Charleroi and registered 320 wins. Bozzi led the team to win four Belgian League titles and coached Spirou in three Euroleague seasons. He has also coached ISC Flemalle, Pepinster and Liege Basket in his native Belgium. He also led Liege to win the Belgian Cup title and make it to the Belgian League finals. "Giovanni knows how this club works. Spirou is very important to him," Spirou president Eric Somme said. "I am really motivated to have Giovanni back in our bench."
