Ramunas Butautas: 'Gani Lawal himself decided not to travel with us'

Gani Lawal has not played the Euroleague QR with VEF Riga against Lietuvos Rytas, as Sportando reported on Monday.

The Latvian team informed the Nigerian big man that they wanted to release him, according to sources.

But coach Ramunas Butautas, after the loss against Lietuvos Rytas, said that Gani Lawal himself decided not to join the team in Lithuania.

"That was his decision. I was not satisfied with his attitude during practices and friendly games. But Gani Lawal himself decided not to travel with us for some reasons. We have to talk now with his agent to terminate the contract" said Butautas.
