'Stay Strong and Fight Hard, My heart will always be with you'. Tanti auguri Alphonso Ford

Oggi 31 ottobre, Alphonso Ford avrebbe compiuto 42 anni.

Ford nacque il 31 ottobre del 1971 a Greenwood, nel Mississippi e nel suo decennio di carriera ha scritto la storia del basket europeo tanto che il premio di miglior marcatore della Euroleague è dedicato alla sua memoria.

Questa la lettera che Alphonso Ford, scomparso il 4 settembre del 2004, scrisse ai tifosi della Scavolini Pesaro:

Dear friends,
I am in the unfortunate position to announce that I will not be able to play the 2004-05 season with Scavolini Pesaro. Unfortunately, my health condition does not allow me, at this point, to compete like a professional athlete.
In this moment, I am really grateful to all of you, and to all the trainers, teammates, fans, referees and managers and, throughout all these years, have given me the opportunity to compete in the sport which I have loved the most.
Finally, regarding MY TEAM, Scavolini Pesaro, I want to thank from the bottom of the heart all the people in the organization, my teammates, coaches and our great supporters.
I want all of you to have faith. Stay strong and fight hard. My heart will always be with you.
