Pistons hold off Kings 103-97 for 3rd straight win

Terza vittoria in fila per Detroit

NBA

Greg Monroe had 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons secured their first three-game winning streak this season with a 103-97 victory over the Sacramento Kings at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Tuesday night. Brandon Knight had a team-high 20 points for the Pistons and Austin Daye added 13, including a game-clinching 3-pointer. DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings, who are 1-13 on the road, with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva was ejected for knocking Kings guard Isaiah Thomas to the floor with four seconds remaining in the first half. Thomas, who was struck in the head while driving to the basket, jumped up and attempted to go after Villanueva but was not penalized. The officials determined Villanueva, who was not initially called for a foul on the play, committed a Flagrant Two infraction after reviewing the replay.
