The San Antonio Spurs have emerged as frontrunners to sign forward Boris Diaw should he clear waivers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Diaw agreed to a buyout with the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, and needs to go unclaimed by NBA teams to become a free agent. The deadline for signing free agents to be eligible for the playoffs is Friday, which is when Diaw is expected to pass through waivers.
The Spurs are still waiting on work visa issues to sign Australian point guard Patty Mills to a contract.
