Isaiah Canaan likely to remain with Phoenix Suns
The Suns will have to make a decision on which player will be replaced by Canaan
Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough stated on Arizona Sports 98.7 that Isaiah Canaan has likely earned a permanent spot on the team, which means management would have to decide which player on the roster they wish to move on from.
Canaan was signed using the team’s hardship exception, so the Suns would have to either trade or waive another player in order to retain him for the season. This would happen upon an injured player returning — Devin Booker will likely return first in the coming days.
Canaan has played four games with the Suns so far this season, averaging 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5 assists in 24.9 minutes.
