Lakers trading Russell and Mozgov to the Nets in exchange of Brook Lopez and 27th pick
Lakers wanted to unload badly Mozgov's deal
As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Los Angeles Lakers have traded point guard D'Angelo Russell and big man Timofey Mozgov to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange of Brook Lopez and the 27th pick in this year's draft. With this move Lakers are clearly trying to clear cap space in order to sign Paul George as a free-agent next season, unloading Timofey Mozgov's deal.
Also, with trading away D'Angelo Russell Lakers are going to draft Lonzo Ball with their no.2 pick.
Lakers are trading Tim Mozgov and D'Angelo Russell to Nets for Brook Lopez and 27th pick Thursday, sources say.
