Chris Paul expected to give serious consideration to the Spurs in free agency
Paul will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer
As reported by Marc Stein of ESPN, superstar Chris Paul is expected to give serious consideration to the San Antonio Spurs' pitch during the free agency period. If Paul will decide to leave Los Angeles and the Clippers, the Spurs would be one of the best options available for him. Stein adds in his piece that Paul would be very intrigued to play with Kawhi Leonard and to be coached by Gregg Popovich, probably the best coach in the NBA.
But the Clippers, of course, will try to do everything they can to keep Paul around and for this reason, Steve Ballmer is trying to bring Jerry West inside the front office. West is considering the offer (his deal with Golden State is set to expire at the end of the season) and could help the franchise in many ways, also in Paul's free agency.
The general expectation is that the Spurs will get at least one meeting with the player when the free agency will start on July 1st.
