Carmelo Anthony's era in New York seems over, Phil Jackson wants to trade him by the deadline
Adrian Wojnarowski reported the story
According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Chris Mannix of The Vertical, Phil Jackson, Knicks executive president, is willing to trade Carmelo Anthony by February's deadline and starting to rebuild the roster around young Latvian star Kristaps Porzingis. Knicks are in touch with Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers and they're working to find the right deal that would convince Melo to waive his 'no-trade clause'.
Anthony makes $24.6 million this season and has $54 million remaining over the next two years of his contract. His deal includes a 15 percent trade kicker and a player option for the 2018-19 season.
