Luol Deng was reportedly close to sign with the Wizards before reaching a deal with Lakers

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, last summer Luol Deng, who was an unrestricted free-agent, was very close to sign a three-year $52 mln deal with the Washington Wizards. The two sides were working on the details but then the Lakers came in and offered a four-year $72 mln deal to the player, leaving the Wizards completely stunned.

Deng is averaging 8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game so far in the season.
