Donatas Motiejunas didn't show up for his physicals in Houston, may come back to RFA market
Lithuanian big man decided to not show up
Yesterday the Houston Rockets matched the offer that Donatas Motiejunas received from the Brooklyn Nets, a four-year $37 mln deal only partially guaranteed, and retained the player. But today Motiejunas didn't show up in Houston to take his physicals, as reported by Jonathan Feigen. Motiejunas, now, has two days to report to the Rockets, otherwise Houston may retire their offer sheet, making the player a restricted free-agent again.
But if this scenario will happen, Motiejunas won't be able to re-sign with the Nets this time, at least for this year. So his agent would need to re-explore the market and finding a new team that it's interested in his client, not an easy task at this point of the season.
Rockets options: Leave open current offer/deal and wait, or return Motiejunas to restricted free agency. He couldn't sign w/ Nets for a year
