Bucks sign Orlando Johnson and J.J. O'Brien

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free agent guard Orlando Johnson and free agent forward J.J. O’Brien to the training camp roster, General Manager John Hammond announced today. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed in accordance with team policy.

Johnson, 27, has three years of NBA experience, including seven games last season split between the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans. The 36th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by Sacramento, Johnson was subsequently dealt to Indiana and began his professional career with the Pacers where he played 89 games during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. Johnson also appeared in seven games for the Kings in 2013-14. In 103 career NBA games, Johnson averaged 3.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. Johnson has also played for Fort Wayne (2012-14) and Austin (2014-16) of the NBA D-League where he averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 80 games (68 starts).

Undrafted out of San Diego State, O’Brien, 24, began the 2015-16 season with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA D-League where he played 46 games (44 starts) and averaged 14.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. He also appeared in two games for the Utah Jazz last season after joining the team on a 10-day contract in January.
