Sixers sign Gerald Henderson
He signed a two-year deal
he Philadelphia 76ers announced today that the team has signed free-agent guard Gerald Henderson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Gerald Henderson is an experienced veteran that will bring professionalism and leadership to our young group and developing team culture,” said Sixers President of Basketball Operations Bryan Colangelo. “Adding a dynamic wing with defensive ability like Gerald is also something that we had hoped to accomplish this off season."
A veteran of seven NBA seasons, Henderson has appeared in 463 games (292 starts) for the Trail Blazers and Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets. He holds career averages of 12 points, three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes per game. Over the course of two seasons with Charlotte (2011-13), he averaged 15.3 points per contest.
