A look at the European player performances in the NBA

NBA

Brooklyn Nets - Cleveland Cavaliers 94-98

Nets:

Mirza Teletovic (DNP): the Bosnian forward did not enter in the game against the Cavs, lost by the Nets.


Boston Celtics - Toronto Raptors 87-93


Raptors:

Jonas Valanciunas (8 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks in 31 minutes): The Raptors won their season opener and the Lithuanian big man was in the starting five. Valanciunas flirted with a double double and shot 4 of 9 from the filed in 31 minutes. The center committed four fouls and lost three balls.


Washington Wizards - Detroit Pistons 102-113

Wizards:

Marcin Gortat (9 points, 9 rebounds): the Polish big man came off the bench in Wizards’ loss against the Pistons. Gortat flirted with a double double scoring 9 points and pulling down 9 boards. Gortat has played 16 minutes and shot 3 of 6 from the field. He committed also 5 fouls.

Kevin Seraphin (2 points, 1 rebounds): the French did not have a lot of space in the rotation of coach Wittman. Seraphin has played just 4 minutes and scored his only attempt.

Jan Vesely (DNP): the Czech sat on the bench the entire game.

Pistons:

Jonas Jerebko (6 points, 2 rebounds): the Swedish player gave a big contribution for the Pistons victory over the Wizards. Jerebko has played just 8 minutes in the first half but he scored 6 points, grabbed 1 rebounds and dished 2 assists.

Gigi Datome: the Italian forward made his debut in the NBA but coach Cheeks used him just for 19 seconds.


Milwaukee Bucks - New York Knicks 83-90

Bucks:

Ersan Ilyasova (10 points, 2 rebounds): the Turkish forward came off the bench to score 10 points in 19 minutes of action. Ilyaskova was almost perfect from the field with 5 of 6.

Zaza Pachulia (13 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists): The Georgian big man came off the bench to play 33 minutes. Pachulia registered a double double in points and rebounds (13+11) and shot 6 of 10 from the field. For Pachulia 3 assists too.

Giannis Antetokounpo (1 point): the Greek rising star played just 4 minutes in the loss but he had the chance to score his first NBA point from the line.

Miroslav Raduljica (DNP).

Knicks:

Andrea Bargnani (6 points, 2 rebounds): Il Mago did not have the best debut with the Knicks. The Italian big man was booed by the Madison Square Garden fans. Bargnani scored 6 points with 2 rebounds in 17 minutes of action.

Beno Udrih (2 points, 2 assists): The Slovenian PG scored 2 points and dished 2 assists in the Knicks’ victory over the Bucks. Udrih came off the bench and played 10 minutes.


Charlotte Bobcats - Houston Rockets 83-96

Rockets:

Omer Asik (4 points, 14 rebounds): The Turkish big man started with Dwight Howard and ended with 4 points but 14 rebounds in the big win over the Bobcats. Asik saw action for 26 minutes.

Omri Casspi (4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists): The Israeli forward gave an important contribution in Rockets’ victory over the Bobcats. Casspi scored 4 points, with 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 20 minutes of action. Casspi shot 2 of 6 from the field.

Orlando Magic - Minnesota Timberwolves 115-120

Magic:

Nikola Vucevic (22 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists): the double double made by the big man from Montenegro was not enough for the Magic to beat Timberwolves. Vucevic scored 22 points with 16 rebounds shooting 9 of 15 from the field.

Timberwolves:

Nikola Pekovic (11 points, 7 rebounds): the big man had to face his teammate in national team Vucevic and ended with 11 points (5 of 11 from the field) and 7 rebounds in the win. Pekovic played 29 minutes.

Ricky Rubio (13 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists): the Spanish pg flirted with a triple double. In 40 minutes of action, Rubio scored 13 points (but shooting just 5 of 15 from the field), added 6 rebounds and 11 assists in the victory.

Ronny Turiaf (3 points, 3 rebounds): the French big man saw 15 minutes of action and scored 3 points, grabbed 3 rebounds coming off the bench.

Alexey Shved (2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists): not the best game in the NBA for Shved. The Russian pg played just 16 minutes off the bench and scored 2 points (1 of 5 from the field). Shved added 3 rebounds and 2 assists).


Indiana Pacers - New Orleans Pelicans 95-90

Pacers:

Ian Mahinmi (7 rebounds): the French went scoreless in 24 minutes (0/3 from the field) but he grabbed 7 rebounds in the victory over the Pelicans.


Atlanta Hawks - Dallas Mavericks 109-118

Hawks:

Dennis Schroder (5 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists): the German talented guard came off the bench in the loss but he had chance to play 18 minutes. The rookie scored 5 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists.

Pero Antic (2 rebounds): Antic became the first player from FYR of Macedonia to play in the NBA. But he did not score in the loss against the Mavs. Antic played 8 minutes and pulled down 2 boards.


Mavericks:

Gal Mekel (2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists): The Israeli PG made his debut in the NBA and he had chance to score his first two points in the league. Mekel played 9 minutes scored 2 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and dished 3 assists.


Memphis Grizzlies - San Antonio Spurs 94-101

Grizzlies:

Marc Gasol (14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists): losing effort for the Spanish big man. Marc Gasol scored 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds in the loss against the Spurs in 34 minutes of action.

Kostas Koufos (7 points, 3 rebounds): The Greek big man gave an important contribution to the Grizzlies despite the loss. Koufos scored 7 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in 14 minutes.

Nick Calathes (2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists): Calathes had the chance to nail his first two points in the NBA in 4 minutes on the court.

Spurs:

Tony Parker (13 points, 9 assists): Spurs won and Parker was one of the key of the team. The French PG scored 13 points in a bad shooting night (4/14) but he dished 9 assists to his teammates.

Marco Belinelli (5 points, 4 rebounds): in his debut with the Spurs, Belinelli scored 5 points with 2 of 5 from the field and grabbed 4 rebounds coming off the bench and seeing 19 minutes of action.

Boris Diaw (14 points, 4 rebounds): The French forward scored 14 points from the bench with a 6 of 9 from the field. Diaw grabbed also 4 rebounds in his 20 minutes on the court.


Oklahoma City Thunder - Utah Jazz 101-98

Thunder:

Serge Ibaka (8 points, 10 rebounds): the Congolese/Spanish big man scored 8 points and added 10 rebounds (4 offensive) in the victory over the Jazz. Ibaka was among the starters for the Thunder.

Thabo Sefolosha (14 points, 4 rebounds): great performance for the Swiss forward. Sefolosha started the game and scored 14 points with 6 of 11 from the field. Sefolosha added also 4 rebounds.

Jazz:

Enes Kanter (14 points, 10 rebounds): The Turkish big man started the game and ended with a double double in points and rebounds. Kanter scored 14 points shooting 6/10 from the field and grabbed 10 rebound in the loss.

Rudy Gobert (2 points, 7 rebounds): the French big man scored his first two points in the NBA in the loss against the Jazz. Gobert grabbed also 7 rebounds in 23 minutes of action.


Portland Trail Blazers - Phoenix Suns  91-104

Blazers:

Nicolas Batum (7 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists): Nicolas Batum scored 7 points with 14 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss against the Suns. Batum was in the starting five and played 36 minutes.

Joel Freeland (3 points, 4 rebounds): The British big man scored 3 points in 12 minutes. Freeland came off the bench and added also 4 rebounds.

Victor Claver (DNP).

Suns:

Goran Dragic (26 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists): the Slovenian point guard showed all his skills in the victory. Dragic dominated the game with 26 points (12/21 from the field), 6 rebounds and 9 assists in 41 minutes.

Alex Len (2 points, 2 rebounds): The rookie from Ukraine had limited minutes in his NBA debut but he had the chance to score 2 points and grab 2 rebounds.

Denver Nuggets - Sacramento Kings 88-90

Nuggets:

Timofey Mozgov (10 points, 2 rebounds). The Russian starts from the bench but he had chance to score in double digit (10 points) in his 19 minutes of action.


Evan Fournier (5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists): The French PG came off the bench to score 5 points (2 of 8 from the field), grab 5 rebounds and dish 2 assists in the loss against Kings.


Los Angeles Lakers - Golden State Warriors 94-125

Pau Gasol (12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists). The Lakers were routed by the Warriors but Gasol ended again in double digit in points (12 shoting 50% from the field). Gasol also added 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Warriors:

Ognjen Kuzmic (3 points): first three points in the NBA for the big man. Kuzmic came off the bench to play 9 minutes.

Nemanja Nedovic: in seven minutes, the Serbian point guard did not have the chance to score his first basket in the NBA. He missed his only attempt from the field.
