Brian Shaw wants 'to see different combinations'

Brian Shaw talks to Chris Dempsey after the first preseason games: 'I want to see different combinations. I probably will make a couple of different starts in terms of guys in the starting rotation, just to see. I think what I’m going to do in this next game or two is start J.J. Hickson at (power forward), see how he plays with JaVale in the mix there and Anthony Randolph or someone else at the (small forward), just kind of move a couple of positions around, get different guys playing with different groups'
on the defense: 'Defensively, I thought for the most part we’re getting the concepts. We made some mistakes but both games we were able to, I believe, hold them under 40 percent shooting. So they are starting to get the schemes of where they are supposed to be defensively. I was happy with that. Now, it’s about tightening things up'
