Bilbao is planning the coming season

Out of ACB playoffs after the loss against Tau Ceramica, iurbentia bilbao started to plan the upcoming season.

First target is to find a new sponsor which pays €2mln euro per year (there are rumors on BBK, a bank from Bilbao which would pay €2.2mnl per year). The agreement with iurbentia will finish at the end of the current season despite a contract valid till June 2010. To find a new sponsor should not be very difficult for Bilbao which is going to play in Europe next year, will host Copa del Rey Finals and will have a new Arena.

Regarding the team, Pedrag Savovic decided to retire and accepted the proposal to become an executive in Bilbao while the permanence of Recker (a target of Estudiantes) and Quincy Lewis is doubtful.

Bilbao started the negotiation with Paco Vazquez to renew the agreement, Banic will stay since he has another year of contract while one between Markota and Pasalic will leave.

Bilbao, as we reported, is targeting Pablo Quinteros, Roberto Guerra and in the frontline it seems close an agreement with big man Curtis Borchardt who will leave Granada. Another name is Brian Cusworth from Breogan.

According to Marca.com, Bilbao is close to ink Spanish player Javi Rodriguez from Ricoh Manresa. The playmaker scored 6.8ppg with 6.1apg.
