Mengke Bateer Wins CBA MVP

Mengke Bateer (210-C-75) of Xinjiang was named MVP of the CBA. Bateer, which is his only name in Mongolian, was a long-time member of the Chinese National Team. He played in the Olympics for China in 1996, 2000 and 2004.

Bateer averaged 16.6 points per game, 10.6 rebounds per game and 4.4 assists per game. He also averaged 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals.

He led Xinjiang to a 44-6 record and a second-place finish, 1 game behind Guangdong.
