They were the dominant team all Commonwealth Games and the Boomers produced another superb performance at both ends of the floor to win gold on Sunday beating Canada 87-47 at Gold Coast Convention Centre.
Having accounted for New Zealand, Canada and Nigeria in the group stage in Cairns, and beating Scotland 103-46 in the semi-final on Sunday at Gold Coast, the Boomers continued their charge in the gold medal match.
The Boomers team is made up of 12 current NBL players and coached by Brisbane Bullets mentor Andrej Lemanis, and they were superb with gold on the line to beat Canada by 40 points with the Canadians on a high off their remarkable semi-final upset of New Zealand.
Australia also won the 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medal in Melbourne and have backed that up with basketball returning to the event this year.
Overall the Boomers have won 17 straight matches in international competition including the Asian Cup triumph of last year.
Earlier in the bronze medal match, New Zealand beat Scotland 79-69 following the Tall Blacks' shock loss in the semi-final to Canada on the buzzer.
