Italian Basketball Federation president: Our budget is €37M. Winning isn't about money but mentality
Petrucci on the decision to hire Tanjevic as director of national teams: "He has to find the problems of our basketball and tell us the director to take to resolve them"
Gianni Petrucci, president of the Italian Basketball Federation, said that the budget of FIP is €37 millions.
For example Danilovic, the president of the Serbian Basketball Federation, said that their budget is €2.5 millions.
Petrucci, in an interview with Il Corriere della Sera, explains the decision to hire Bogdan Tanjevic as directors of all the Italian National Teams.
“I am not a coach but Tanjevic is. People said that Petrucci doesn’t understand basketball? Tanjevic does. He is 70? I prefer more the knowledge than habit of wanting to appear youthful no matter what. He has to find the problems of our basketball and tell us the director to take to resolve them” Petrucci said. “We will work to create a new generation of Italian players. We’ll see the results on the medium, long period” Petrucci added. “Olimpia Milano players with the National Team during the new windows? If coach Sacchetti names them, they have to come”.
