Ettore Messina won't be allowed anymore to leave the Spurs during the entire summer
Ettore Messina will leave the Italian National team after Eurobasket, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Messina is in Italy and informed Italian Basketball Federation (FIP) president Gianni Petrucci that he is unlikely to lead Italian NT because the Spurs won’t allow him to leave the franchise during the summer.
Zeljko Obradovic, head coach of Fenerbahce, is dream of the Italian Federation to replace Messina.
But it is unlikely that Obradovic will accept the position.
Another candidate is Sasha Djordjevic whose contract with Serbia will expire after Eurobasket.
Ergin Ataman is another name while Pino Sacripanti, assistant coach of Ettore Messina, is the last option.
