EuroBasket 2015, group D: day 1 highlights

Czech Republic won without problems the first EuroBasket game in group D, beating Estonia with the result of 80-57. The winners controlled the match already in the first minutes reaching also the +29 at the end of the third quarter, thanks to the good game near the basket and at rebound.

For Czech Republic great game in the first half for Vesely (16+8) and Schilb with 14 points. 11 points at the end for Jelinek.
Not enough to Estonia the double-double of Vene, with 18 points and 13 rebounds.



In the second game of the day it was a really balance battle between Belgium and Latvia, in the great atmosphere of the Arena Riga. Thanks to the great start in the last 10 minutes the hosts obtained a really important victory for 78-67, reaching Czech Rep. on top in the standing. Probably decisive at the end the 3-points percentage for the hosts and the partial (21-6) in the first minutes of the last quarter.

For the hosts 15 points of Meiers, 14 for Janicenoks, 13 of Bertans and 12 for Berzins.
Across for the Lions good game of Hervelle (13+6+7), 12 points of Van Rossom, 11 with 6 rebounds for De Zeeuw and 11 of Lojeski.



In the last challenge of the day Lithuania won against Ukraine with the result of 69-68. The men of Kazlauskas controlled the score during almost the entire game, thanks to the great work at rebounds, but in the last minutes Ukraine completed the comeback, missing the final shot for the victory.

For the winners 22 points of Jankunas, Valanciunas has 19+11, 11 points of Maciulis and 8 for Seibutis.
Fesenko is the top scorer for Ukraine with 19 points and 11 rebounds, good game also for Randle with 12 + 6 assist and Mishula with 13 points.
